    Analysis of longitudinal data from the Italian low-dose CT lung cancer screening trial “COSMOS” reveals that, for every 108 lung cancers detected early, one radiation-induced tumor also arises, leading researchers to conclude that, although the risk of screening-induced cancer is real, it “can be considered acceptable” given the health benefits of early detection.
