Contrast-enhanced coronary CT angiography is instrumental in identifying significant predictors of the risk of atherosclerotic plaque formation in patients with myocardial bridging of the left anterior descending artery

In a retrospective study of 99 patients with myocardial bridging (MB) of the left anterior descending artery (LAD), for whom baseline and follow-up contrast-enhanced coronary CT angiography examinations were available, the diagnostic effectiveness of CT contributed to show that perivascular fat attenuation index, MB length, and MB stenosis may increase the probability of atherosclerotic plaque formation proximal to the LAD-MB within 3 years.
