In a prospective single-center study, a novel semi-automated artificial intelligence (AI) biomarker for CT perfusion was developed to identify vascular phenotypes in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and to study the effects of these phenotypes on overall survival (OS). In 92 patients with PDAC, the AI approach, in combination with the information provided by the CT perfusion curve, was able to differentiate the vascular patterns, which correlated with significant differences in OS. The analysis of CT perfusion using an AI approach may represent a useful tool for predicting PDAC prognosis related to tumor vascularity.
