1. Patient Presentation
- A 74-year-old woman presented to the Emergency Department with recurrent mild chronic abdominal pain spreading to the back and fever.
- She had no history of previous pathological conditions.
- Blood tests showed C-reactive protein, 13.75 mg/dL; white blood cell count, 9.52 x 103/µL; D-dimer, 339.0 ng/mL.
- In order to exclude inflammatory disease of peritoneal or retroperitoneal organs, an abdominal CT with and without contrast medium injection was performed.
