    1. Patient Presentation

    • A 35-year-old man presented with diffuse abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting persisting for 3 weeks.
    • After symptomatic treatment, the patient’s condition improved. However, he re-presented with fever (39 ºC), pain and choluria.
    • Laboratory tests revealed C-reactive protein 237 mg/L (normal interval: 0-5 mg/L), aspartate transaminase 1029 U/L (normal interval: 5-40 U/L), alanine transaminase 1131 U/L (normal interval: 5-41 U/L).
    • Abdominal ultrasonography showed multiple fluid collections with dense content.
    • Contrast-enhanced CT of the abdomen was performed to rule out a hepatic artery thrombosis.
