Role of CT in the management of prostate cancer

Prof. A. Torregrosa

In this new MDCT.net videographics, Prof. Torregrosa describes the recent evidence available on the role of CT imaging in prostate cancer.

As reported in her talk and highlighted by the infographics, contrast-enhanced CT has shown its usefulness for staging, detection of biochemical recurrences, identification of metastases, and localisation of the site of disease, also in combination with positron emission tomography (PET). Indeed, PET/CT scanning allows us to integrate the morphological information provided by CT scanning with the functional information obtained with PET.
