    1. Patient Presentation

    • A 44-year-old man was admitted to the emergency department following a recent syncopal episode with resuscitated cardiac arrest.
    • The electrocardiogram and blood troponin test were negative for acute myocardial infarction.
    • Echocardiography revealed significant dilation of the left ventricle.
    • The patient underwent urgent surgical placement of an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD).
    • The ICD was activated twice after implantation; therefore, although the device was MRI-compatible, it was deemed unwise to perform a cardiac MRI.
    • A cardiac CT, including a late iodine enhancement study, was requested.
