    1. Patient presentation

    • A 64-year-old man was brought to the emergency room with a reduced level of consciousness and a
      left-sided hemiparesis.

    • Relatives reported that the onset of symptoms was insidious.
    • The patient was cachectic and his medical history included laryngeal cancer.
    • Non-enhanced and contrast-enhanced MDCT of the neurocranium was performed.
