1. Patient Presentation
- An 81-year-old woman presented in the emergency department with shortness of breath and signs
of an upper airway infection. - She had no relevant medical history and stated that she “was always healthy”.
- A standard medical exam was performed, including chest radiography. Congestive heart failure
was diagnosed clinically. - The radiologist on call, after reading the chest radiograph,suggested a CT scan of the
chest.
