    1. Patient presentation

    • A 49-year-old man presented for chest radiography as part of the presurgical assessment for
      carotid endarterectomy.
    • His medical history included recurrent pneumonia in childhood. He did not smoke.
    • Chest radiography revealed a nodular opacity in the right upper lobe.
    • Contrast-enhanced CT of the chest was performed to investigate further.
