    1. Patient presentation

    • A 85-year-old woman with nausea and vomiting presented to the emergency room.
    • The physical examination revealed a debilitated, cachectic, slightly lethargic woman. Although
      she had no abnormalities in the abdominal or inguinal regions, she had pain and paresthesia along
      the inner aspect of the thigh, down to the knee.

    • Her medical history included cholecystectomy.
    • An initial sonography examination gave non-specific findings.
    • Contrast-enhanced CT of the abdomen was performed.
