1. Patient Presentation
- A 64-year-old male patient with hepatic cirrhosis and preserved liver function developed a large hepatocellular carcinoma in segment V (Figure 1; portal venous phase is not shown).
- Considering the clinical background and tumor characteristics, the patient’s cancer was classified as intermediate stage [Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stage B (BCLC-B)].
- The multidisciplinary board decided to carry out transarterial radioembolization (TARE) performing an embolization in the right hepatic lobe.
