    1. Patient presentation

    • A 52-year-old man presented with chest pain and progressive dyspnea.
    • His medical history included colon cancer, which had been treated with surgery and
      chemotherapy.
    • Echocardiography indicated endocarditis; blood tests confirmed the endocarditis and also
      revealed anemia.
    • Chest radiography demonstrated multiple opacities, some of which were partially cavitated.
    • Contrast-enhanced CT of the chest was performed to investigate further.
