    1. Patient presentation

    • A 42-year-old man was admitted to hospital after a car accident.
    • Typical polytrauma CT was performed, including arterial and venous phase scans and reconstructions in arterial, soft tissue and bone windows.
    • CT angiography of the abdominal aorta and the venous phase scan of the abdomen revealed diffuse mesenteric hemorrhage (Figure 1).
