1. Patient presentation
- An 89-year-old woman presented to the emergency room suffering from sudden-onset abdominal pain and nausea.
- She had a history of obstipation for 2 days, and reported a loss of weight over the past 3 months.
- Clinical examination revealed marked abdominal distension, tenderness and rebound pain.
- Contrast-enhanced CT of the abdomen was performed to investigate further.
