    1. Patient Presentation

    • A 52-year-old man presented to the Emergency Department with acute abdominal pain. He had a recent medical history of acute diverticulitis complicated by an abdominal abscess, treated with antibiotics and left hemicolectomy two weeks earlier.
    • Blood tests showed a drop in hemoglobin levels (>1 g/dL in 24 hours) with neutrophilic leukocytosis and increased C-reactive protein levels.
    • Abdominal CT with contrast medium was performed to evaluate the abdominal condition.
