Peri-coronary adipose tissue attenuation derived from coronary CT angiography may independently predict microvascular complications in diabetic patients without significant coronary artery disease

A study from European Radiology investigated the predictive value of peri-coronary adipose tissue (PCAT) attenuation derived from coronary CT angiography for microvascular complications in diabetic patients without significant coronary artery disease. Combined with clinical factors, this novel imaging method applied to the right coronary artery demonstrated a relevant predictive value for the development of microvascular complications in this clinical setting.
