Novel dedicated cardiac CT scanner improves the image quality of coronary CT angiograms, particularly in patients with high heart rates

    A recent study compared the quality of coronary CT angiograms obtained with a dedicated cardiac CT scanner and with a conventional multidetector CT (MDCT) scanner in patients with different heart rates. The dedicated cardiac CT scanner provided better image quality with fewer motion artifacts in comparison with conventional MDCT, particularly in patients with elevated heart rates.
