New method based on contrast-to-noise ratio automatically quantifies changes in local plaque thickness on serial coronary computed tomography angiography

    A retrospective study carried out on 50 patients investigated the feasibility of using a recently developed tool to automatically quantify progression or regression of coronary plaque thickness on serial coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA). Contrast-to-noise ratio combined with plaque contour delineation allowed definition of patient/vessel-specific thresholds identifying actual changes in plaque thickness on serial contrast-enhanced CCTA scans to objectively and automatically assess coronary plaque dynamics.
