First study reporting on the use of contrast-enhanced high-resolution coronary CT angiography to obtain detailed parameters of myocardial bridging (MB) and analyze the effect of MB on fatal ventricular arrhythmias in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

A retrospective observational study demonstrated for the first time the usefulness of contrast-enhanced high-resolution coronary CT angiography (CCTA) to define the relationship between myocardial bridging (MB) and fatal ventricular arrhythmias (VAs) in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and implantable cardiac defibrillators. By using CCTA, sudden cardiac death risk score and MB were recognized as independent risk factors for fatal VAs in this category of patients.
