To assess the diagnostic accuracy of non-coronary CT angiography (CTA) in evaluating coronary artery disease (CAD), a retrospective study considered 232 patients who underwent both contrast-enhanced CTA and invasive coronary angiography (ICA) prior to transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Using a 50% stenosis diameter threshold, CTA demonstrated high sensitivity and specificity (approximately 70%) based solely on the analysis of thin-sliced axial reconstructions. These findings suggest that non coronary-dedicated pre-TAVR CTA may play a valuable role in excluding significant CAD, potentially reducing the need for invasive examinations.
