CT angiography is the only non-invasive modality for carotid imaging showing an increased utilization rate over the past decade

    A group of researchers from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital analyzed the US Medicare database in order to assess the utilization rates of carotid imaging modalities from 2004 and 2016; the use of all imaging modalities showed a decline over the past decade, with the only exception of CT angiography, that has shown a growth of nearly 700%.
