This cross-sectional study evaluated 351 patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD) using contrast-enhanced coronary CT angiography (CCTA) to quantify the severity and extent of CAD through semiquantitative plaque burden scores: Segment Involvement Score (SIS) and Segment Stenosis Score (SSS). All patients also completed the Temperament Evaluation of Memphis, Pisa, Paris, and San Diego Autoquestionnaire (TEMPS-A) to detect the presence of a correlation between CAD severity and affective temperaments. The findings revealed that affective temperaments were indirectly associated with CAD severity and extent. Specifically, for men, hyperthermic temperament showed an inverse correlation with SIS and SSS, while, for women, irritable temperament emerged as an independent predictor of CAD severity and extent.
