A new research from a German group compared image quality of different dual-energy CT techniques for the evaluation of head and neck cancer

A new work on European Radiology compared image quality between single-source dual-Energy CT equipped with split filter and dual-source dual-energy CT: both techniques required specific reconstructions in order to obtain the highest image quality, with the first one being the best compromise between artifacts and signal-to-noise ratio, and the latter showing a superior subjective image quality and a better vessel/tumor attenuation.
