A new meta-analysis evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of dual-energy CT with iodine quantification technique in the assessment of renal masses

This study selected 13 original articles with an overall of 969 patients and demonstrated that dual-energy CT accuracy is comparable to the results of conventional dedicated renal mass CT protocols. This approach may be useful for characterization in case of incidental finding of renal masses during single-phase contrast-enhanced scans, when dual-energy protocol is adopted.
