THIS MONTH’S HIGHLIGHT

Role of contrast-enhanced CT in the assessment
of vascular injuries after blunt trauma

Dear readers,

After various insights on the use of CT in the diagnosis of COVID-19 proposed in recent Newsletters, we provide an interesting new podcast, the second of our series: Professor Scaglione is “on air” presenting his experience and suggestions on the use of IV contrast agent in the CT diagnosis of vascular injuries after blunt trauma.

An accurate depiction of the most reliable CT protocol for this kind of evaluation is included in the selected scientific article, focusing on vascular injuries of the liver.

Finally, we repropose a very particular clinical case from our archive, where a high-speed injury is correctly detected by using contrast-enhanced CT angiography.

As usual, suggestions for topics to be covered in future issues of this newsletter are welcome: please send us your proposals at editorial@mdct.net.
