THIS MONTH’S HIGHLIGHT

Uganda experience: A mix of professionalism
and limited resources

Dear mdct.net readers,

This year, the Radiological Society of North America selected Uganda as one of the sites of its International Visiting Professorship program and it chose mdct.net’s own Prof. Laghi, an expert in gastrointestinal radiology, as one of the two International Visiting Professors to go to this country. In this Newsletter, Prof. Laghi describes his invigorating ten-day experience in the heart of Africa. The report on his whirling and emotionally charged adventure will immerse you in a world of inconveniences and challenges, but also of expertise and strong willpower.

To accompany his report, we herein propose three new clinical cases covering different body regions and pathologies.

We kindly remind you that you can suggest topics to be covered in future issues by writing to us at editorial@mdct.net.

ANALYSIS & OPINION

Radiology in Uganda: impressions of an Italian visiting professor
Perspective by A. Laghi

My experience as an International Visiting Professor of the RSNA in Uganda started by chance, but was planned with almost maniacal detail. In the ten days of my stay, I visited hospitals, gave lectures, and dealt with a continuum of questions, differential diagnoses, and CT signs, in an always cheerful and proactive atmosphere.
