Dear readers,
The medieval soul of the elegant and historic city of Montpellier, home to one of the oldest medical schools in the world, coexists harmoniously with the modernity of its boldest architecture, creating a unique blend that perfectly reflected the spirit of the conference.
Retracing the footsteps of the past through the opening course dedicated to the story of the biliary system, while looking ahead to the most advanced diagnostic technologies and the remarkable progress achieved in gastrointestinal and abdominal imaging thanks to the challenging contribution of artificial intelligence, the meeting continuously fostered connections between history and the ongoing evolution of science. This dialogue between past and present was reflected in the numerous activities that animated the congress, including lectures, interactive workshops, tutorials, School of ESGAR sessions, image-guided therapy sessions, and case-based discussions. Throughout these events, the most renowned key opinion leaders in the field engaged with the next generation of radiologists, highlighting once again the emerging talents who will shape the future of abdominal imaging.
Some of the most memorable and significant moments of the meeting are captured in Prof. Torregrosa’s contribution, which, with a vivid and engaging style, recounts the dynamic and stimulating atmosphere of the conference.
The ultimate goal of the event was to provide a practical and accurate vision of how the solid foundations of our specialty can support the continuous advancement of clinical practice. In the same spirit, we are pleased to offer a new clinical case, inviting you to test your diagnostic skills and apply some of the concepts discussed at the meeting.
