Dear readers,
With this special Newsletter, we revisit the dynamic and engaging atmosphere that characterized the recent European Congress of Radiology (ECR) 2026.
As always, the congress provided a unique environment fostering interaction, dialogue, and the exchange of ideas among radiology professionals from across the international community. Alongside the rich scientific program, several industry-led sessions offered additional opportunities to explore emerging technologies and evolving clinical perspectives.
Among its various activities, Bracco organized a series of live sessions taking place over three consecutive days in a dedicated area of its booth, called “Agorà.” As the name suggests, this space was designed as a gathering point for international experts to discuss the future of imaging, building on the technological and clinical advances already shaping today’s radiological practice.
Of the many topics addressed, three particularly stimulating conversations with renowned Key Opinion Leaders – part of the MDCT.net initiative “Sketching the Future of CT Imaging” – focused on key themes:
• how scientific innovation can be effectively scaled and translated to
everyday clinical practice
• how artificial intelligence can enhance diagnostic safety and accuracy
while remaining firmly centered on the specific needs of pediatric patients
and supporting the work of radiologists
• how photon-counting CT technology, with its advanced capabilities, is
paving the way for emerging clinical applications and further technological
developments.
Each of these discussions is presented below in full and accompanied by a visual sketch created in real-time during the sessions. These illustrations highlight the central ideas that emerged from the debate, offering an original and accessible representation of the experts’ perspectives.
Hoping that similar initiatives will continue to enrich future congresses, we would like to remind you that, for suggestions on new topics to be featured in future newsletters, you can contact us at editorial@mdct.net.
