We are pleased to announce the publication of an updated MDCT.net section dedicated to the calculation of intravenous contrast medium doses for CT imaging.
We have developed a new tool to help determine the appropriate contrast dose in vascular and oncologic imaging, in accordance with the CIRTACI guidelines. By entering patient-specific values for key parameters, you can get the tool to calculate the dose in real time based on body surface area.
In addition to the dose, the calculator will also show the injection rate, injection time, and saline flush volume. While it cannot replace clinical expertise or judgment, this tool can support the careful and evidence-based use of contrast media, helping to minimize adverse effects while ensuring high image quality and optimal contrast enhancement.
