Dear readers,
MDCT.net’s collection of videopills on the study of incidentalomas accurately detected by CT continues: after describing the characterization and diagnosis of incidental renal and splenic masses, this month’s Newsletter tackles the correct approach to identifying the different pathological entities making up the wide spectrum of adrenal incidentalomas detected by CT. Indeed, CT is not only the most reliable imaging tool for discovering this kind of incidental finding, but it is also the most recommended technique for the differential diagnosis, leading to the most appropriate subsequent management.
In Dr. Matarazzo’s videopill, the clinical and radiological features, based on the use of abdominal CT scanning, are specifically illustrated, while the advantages of CT in recognizing them are further highlighted in each of the two new clinical cases proposed below. The contribution of radiomics in supporting radiological investigation of the nature of lipid-poor adrenal adenomas using CT and practical evidence-based advice for the CT evaluation and the treatment of adrenal incidentalomas are the focus of the scientific papers selected for this Newsletter.
We remind you that suggestions for topics to be covered in future issues of this newsletter are welcome. Please send your proposals to us at editorial@mdct.net.
