Compared to standard resolution, ultra-high-resolution coronary CT angiography based on photon-counting detector CT significantly improves coronary stent visualization and image quality and increases diagnostic accuracy

A single-center prospective study included 69 patients with 131 coronary stents. All patients underwent coronary CT angiography (CCTA) based on photon-counting detector (PCD-CT). Image quality and diagnostic performance of standard (SR) and ultra-high resolution (UHR) imaging were compared. Visualization of coronary stents with UHR CCTA using a PCD-CT was significantly improved, increasing diagnostic accuracy for in-stent restenosis and drastically reducing unnecessary invasive quantitative coronary angiography.
