    1. Patient Presentation

    • A 76-year-old woman presented with abdominal pain and closed bowel for the past three days. Superficial and deep palpation of the abdomen revealed tenderness over all abdominal quadrants.
    • Blood tests showed a normal white blood cell count and elevated levels of C-reactive protein and lactate dehydrogenase.
    • Contrast-enhanced CT was performed to rule out bowel occlusion or bowel perforation.
