Substantial inter- and intra-observer variability detected in CT-based measurements of pancreatic duct- and gland diameters in patients with chronic pancreatitis

An essential prerequisite in implementing quantitative pancreatic measurements for a future imaging-based scoring system allowing monitoring of the morphological progression of chronic pancreatitis (CP) is to evaluate inter- and intraobserver variability. This paper from Abdominal Radiology reported a relatively large intra- and interobserver variation in the CT-based measurements of ductal- and parenchymal diameters, suggesting the need for further investigations to overcome this limitation in reproducibility.
