Simultaneous evaluation of the coronary arteries and aorta using coronary-aorta computed tomography reliably detects concomitant coronary artery disease and aortic aneurysm

As reported in a recent Korean retrospective study, the use of a noninvasive coronary-aorta CT protocol evaluating both the coronary arteries and the aorta can effectively contribute to assess the prevalence and prognostic impact of concomitant coronary artery disease (CAD) and aortic aneurysm (AA). This approach demonstrated that patients with AA have a higher risk of CAD and that the presence of CAD is independently related to major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events at 3 years.
