Hybrid-based iterative reconstruction and model-based iterative reconstruction during coronary CT angiography for an accurate diagnosis of coronary stenosis: which provides the best image quality?

A recent paper compared the image quality obtained with hybrid-base iterative reconstruction (HBIR) or model-based iterative reconstruction (MBIR) during ECG-gated coronary CT angiography for the detection of coronary stenosis in the same cohort of patients. The study found that MBIR provided superior quantitative image quality, whereas HBIR was superior in the qualitative assessment.
