First demonstration of standardization and reproducibility of CT radiomic features for the evaluation of tumor aggressiveness and histotype of lung neuroendocrine tumors based on contrast-enhanced CT images obtained with different scanners

A recent observational study analyzed for the first time the correlation between CT radiomic features obtained from pulmonary neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and both Ki-67 index and the presence of nodal mediastinal metastases. The evaluation carried out on contrast-enhanced images obtained with different CT scanners demonstrated the efficacy and reliability of some radiomic features in stratifying lung NET subtypes and predicting tumor aggressiveness in a heterogeneous group of patients.
