Evaluation of streak artefacts in CT urography using two different iodinated contrast media

A recent study from an Italian group retrospectively evaluated the frequency and extent of streak artefacts on CT urography scans obtained with two contrast media with different iodine concentration and osmolarity. In comparison with Iodinaxol 320 mgI/mL, Iomeprol 400 mgI/mL induced significantly fewer and less marked streak artefacts, indicating that, despite its higher iodine concentration per millilitre, it may provide high quality CT urography with a lower burden of artefacts.
