A recent study evaluated the diagnostic performance of an artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm in detecting pulmonary embolism (PE) on CT pulmonary angiogram in comparison with the diagnostic accuracy of emergency radiologists in clinical practice. The AI algorithm for PE detection showed a high sensitivity and negative predictive value, indicating that AI algorithms can support and augment the diagnostic performance of radiologists.
