CT texture analysis of carotid plaques for identifying patients at risk of stroke and transient ischemic attack

A study from Neuroradiology has shown for the first time the capability of CT texture analysis (CTTA) in determining the risk of stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA) in patients with carotid atherosclerosis. Specific CTTA parameters were identified as reliable predictive factors for future cerebrovascular events in this patient population.
